To no avail, our nation has spent the past fifty plus years attempting to overrun the nation of Cuba through the use of harsh embargo tactics. Now finally, when our American president decides to cease this struggle and to actually engage in dialogue with Cuba, the first words about our president out of too many political opponents of our president are nasty and despicable. Never mind that today, we Americans have relationships with Vietnam, China, Saudi Arabia and other nations with which we have disagreements over political and moral issues. There are those in our social and political world that would have us remain as one of the very few countries without a connection to Cuba. In my view, President Obama made a good decision when he chose to take another path as a way of working toward the betterment for the peoples of both the United States and Cuba.
