Let Us Truly Be The United States Of America

I have a favor to ask of my fellow Americans regarding healthcare for our America. Please! Wake up and take note of our history, and of the history of our allied nations.

For over a hundred years, our country has been using federal and state taxes to build and care for our infrastructures of roads and bridges. All of us are participating in paying for the cost of our infrastructures, and in the end, whether we as individuals use one or more of said roads and bridges, or not, we all benefit as a community and as a nation through the use of our infrastructure.

Our fellow democratic nations have learned from this process, and as a result of their learning, they have adopted said process when it comes to healthcare. They use their public tax funds to support their healthcare systems that provide healthcare at no further cost to every one of their citizens, and in the end, their costs for healthcare amount, on average, to less than half of what our individual American recipients pay.

The bad news for my country is that, except for the wealthiest among us, our provided healthcare for the vast majority of Americans is rated lower than the healthcare provided to the citizens of 10 of our allied nations. Too many millions of our fellow Americans have no healthcare available to them unless they arrive at the point where they suddenly require emergency treatment for health issues that would have been better dealt with through a system of preventive care that all citizens of our allied nations are fortunate to have.

During the era of World War II, I was so proud of my country for the way we stood up to our enemies and fought together to overcome our enemies. I want to be proud once again of my country. I want to see us once again begin to behave and act as a community, as a United States dedicated to being there for one and all in every aspect of life.
